Pleasant Brodnax specializes in federal white-collar criminal litigation and representation of individuals and companies during grand jury and regulatory investigations.
He began his legal career at an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Virginia, where he served for two years in the Tax Section, followed by two years as a staff attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel for the Bureau of Export Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce. In 1991, he founded his own law practice, focusing on federal court criminal litigation.
Mr. Brodnax regularly represents individual and corporate clients in criminal investigations and enforcement proceedings conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice and local Virginia prosecutors. His representations include matters relating to the theft of trade secrets, antitrust laws, export-import violations, government contracting, bribery and gratuities laws, international trade, health care fraud and labor certification fraud. Mr. Brodnax has also provided criminal representation to elected and political officials and professional sports personalities.
Mr. Brodnax is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and he has served as Chair of the College's State Committee for the District of Columbia.
